बड़े शहर की लड़कियाँ
शहर में
एक बहुत बड़ा छोटा शहर और
निहायत ही छोटा सा एक
बड़ा शहर होता है
जहाँ लड़कियाँ
अंग्रेज़ी पढ़ी होती हैं
इम्तहानों में भूगोल इतिहास में भी
वे ऊपर आती हैं
उन्हें दूर से देखकर
छोटे शहर की लड़कियों को बेवजह
तंग करने वाले आवारा लड़के
ख्वाबों में - मैं तुम्हारे लिए
बहुत अच्छा बन जाऊँगा -
कहते हैं
ड्राइवरों वाली कारों में
राष्ट्रीय स्पर्धाओं में जाती लड़कियाँ
तन से प्रायः गोरी
मन से परिवार के मर्दों सी
हमेशा गोरी होती हैं
फिल्मों में गोरियाँ
गरीब लड़कों की उछल कूद देखकर
उन्हें प्यार कर बैठती हैं
ऐसा ज़िंदगी में नहीं होता
छोटे शहर की लड़कियों के भाइयों को
यह तब पता चलता है
जब आईने में शक्ल बदसूरत लगने लगती है
नौकरी धंधे की तलाश में एक मौत हो चुकी होती है
बाकी ज़िंदगी दूसरी मौत का इंतज़ार होती है
तब तक बड़े शहर की लड़कियाँ
अफसरनुमा व्यापारी व्यापारीनुमा अफसर
मर्दों की बीबियाँ बनने की तैयारी में
जुट चुकी होती हैं
उनके बारे में कइयों का कहना है
वे बड़ी आधुनिक हैं उनके रस्म
पश्चिमी ढंग के हैं
दरअसल बड़े शहर की लड़कियाँ
औरत होने का अधकचरा अहसास
किसी के साथ साझा नहीं कर सकतीं
इसलिए बहुत रोया करती हैं
उतना ही
जितना छोटे शहर की लड़कियाँ
रोती हैं
रोते रोते
उनमें से कुछ
हल्की होकर
आस्मान में उड़ने
लगती है
ज़मीन उसके लिए
निचले रहस्य सा खुल जाती है
फिर कोई नहीं रोक सकता
लड़की को
वह तूफान बन कर आती है
पहाड़ बन कर आती है
भरपूर औरत बन कर आती है
अचंभित दुनिया देखती है
औरत।

Good One
एक अंधी लडकी थी । उसे उसके एक दोस्त के अलावा सबने ठुकरा दिया था । पर वो दोस्त उससे बहुत प्यार करता था । लडकी रोज़ उससे ये कहती कि अगर वो उसे देख पाती तो उसी से शादी करती । एक दिन किसी ने उस लडकी को अपने आंखे दे दीं । जब वो देख सकने लगी तो उसने देखा की उसका वह दोस्त अंधा था । दोस्त ने उससे पूछा की क्या अब वो उससे शादी करेगी ? लडकी ने साफ़ इनकार कर दिया । इस पर उसका दोस्त मुस्कुराया और चुप चाप उसे एक कागज़ देकर चला गया । उसपर लिखा था -
"मेरी आखों का ख्याल रखना"
"मेरी आखों का ख्याल रखना"

तीन आदमी, दो अधेड़ और एक युवा, किसी बीयर बार में बीयर पीने गये। जब वह पीने लगे तो एक आदमी बोला - ''लगता है बाहर बारिश हो रही है।'' गरमागरम बहस के बाद तय हुआ कि उम्र में सबसे छोटा छतरी लेने के लिये घर जाये। लड़का गुर्राया - ''मेरे जाने पर तुम मेरी सारी बीयर पी जाओगे।'' उसे इतमीनान दिलाया गया कि नहीं पीयेंगे, उसके हिस्से की ज्यों की त्यों रखी रहेगी। तब कहीं छोटे मियां छतरी लेने चले।
रात गहराने लगी पर छोटे मियां नहीं लौटे। अन्त में एक बोला - ''क्यों न उन हजरत के हिस्से की भी पी ही ली जाये। अब तो वे आने से रहे।''
दूसरा बोला - ''मैं भी यही सोच रहा था। आओ पी लें।''
बार के एक कोने की छोटी सी खिड़की से तेज आवाज आई - ''अगर पीओगे तो मैं छतरी लेने नहीं जाऊंगा।''

I read these stories today and am providing it for all my blog reader ( which I suppose is only me )

Story 1.
One day Emperor Akbar and Birbal were taking a walk in the palace gardens. It was a nice summer morning and there were plenty of crows happily playing around the pond. While watching the crows, a question came into Akbar's head. He wondered how many crows were there in his kingdom.
Since Birbal was accompanying him, he asked Birbal this question. After a moment's thought, Birbal replied, "There are ninety-five thousand four hundred and sixty-three crows in the Kingdom".
Amazed by his quick response, Akbar tried to test him again, "What if there are more crows than you answered?" Without hesitating Birbal replied, "If there are more crows than my answer, then some crows are visiting from other neighboring kingdoms". "And what if there are less crows", Akbar asked. "Then some crows from our kingdom have gone on holidays to other places".

Spirituality is matters of the spirit, a concept tied to a spirit world, a multidimensional reality and one or more deities. Spiritual matters regard humankind's ultimate nature and purpose, not as material biological organisms, but as spirits with an eternal relationship beyond the bodily senses, time and the material world. Spirituality implies the mind-body dichotomy, which indicates a separation between the body and soul.
The spiritual is contrasted with the physical, matter and the temporary. A sense of connection is central of spirituality — connection to a reality greater than the physical world and oneself, which may include an emotional experience of awe and reverence. Spirituality may also include the development of the individual's inner life through practices such as meditation and prayer, including the search for God, the supernatural, a divine influence, or information about the afterlife. Spirituality is the personal, subjective aspect of religion, mysticism, magic and occult.
While the words religion and spirituality are often incorrectly used interchangeably, an important distinction exists between spirituality in religion and spirituality outside of religion. In recent[update] years, spirituality outside of religion often carries connotations of a believer having a faith more personal, less dogmatic, more open to new ideas and myriad influences, and more pluralistic than the doctrinal/dogmatic faiths of mature religions.[1] There are, however, non-creedal mature religions (e.g., Unitarian Universalism) whose adherents can be spiritual in the sense of having a more personal faith.[2]
It also can connote the nature of believers' personal relationship or "connection" with their god(s) or belief-system(s), as opposed to the general relationship with a Deity and the rites of group worship shared by all members of a given faith.

People of a more New-Age disposition tend to regard spirituality not as religion per se, but as the active and vital connection to a force/power/energy, spirit, or sense of the deep self. As cultural historian and yogi William Irwin Thompson (1938 - ) put it, "Religion is not identical with spirituality; rather religion is the form spirituality takes in civilization." (1981, 103)
Some modern religions see spirituality in everything: see pantheism and neo-Pantheism. Religious Naturalism in a similar vein has a spiritual attitude towards the awe, majesty and mystery seen in the natural world.
